History
2013-14: Split the season with Christian Brothers Academy in New Jersey and the New Jersey Hitmen U18 team in the USPHL. In 15 games for CBA, van Riemsdyk scored 19 goals while collecting 22 assists. He had 5 goals and 8 assists in 10 games for the New Jersey Hitmen. The Hitmen lost in the Championship to Selects Academy. He collected 1 assist in 3 playoff games while also picking up 12 penalty minutes.
Talent Analysis
van Riemsdyk is very strong with and without the puck, has slick hands and likes to be fancy sometimes, but also shows the ability to make the power move to the outside. van Riemsdyk has a big, long powerful stride but does not have quick enough foot speed. He has a really hard shot and is deadly accurate. He will never be the best defensive player on the ice, however. (Future Considerations, June 2014)
Future
van Riemsdyk will play for Islanders Hockey Club Premier in 2014-15. He is committed to the University of New Hampshire for 2015.
