History
2013-14: Pettersen appeared in 20 games for Lørenskog U16 in the Norway U16 league. He scored 34 goals and collected 37 assists for 71 points leading his team and league. In February of 2014 he announced he would attend South Kent Prep in the fall of 2014 and would play for Selects Academy U16 in the 2014-15 season. In April, Pettersen committed to the University of Denver.

Talent Analysis
An extremely smooth skater, Emilio has a very good shot but can also set up his teammates for an easy back-door tap-in. Has good hands and possesses a deadly cut in move to get around defenders. Release could be quicker, but that will come as he grows. Very comparable to Jonathan Drouin. (USPHL Prospects, July 2014)
Future
Pettersen will play for Selects Academy U16 in 2014-15. Pettersen is committed to the University of Denver for the fall of 2018. He is eligible for the 2018 NHL Draft.
