History

2013-14: Split the year between Portledge School and the PAL Junior Islanders organization, where he played for 18U and Premier. Named All League First Team in the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League where Portledge plays. Duszak scored 14 points in his 13 games with the 18U club and 17 in his 34 games at the Premier level. Added a goal and an assist in the Premier playoffs, where PAL fell 2-1 to the South Shore Kings.

Talent Analysis

Joe Duszak is puck-moving offensive defenseman who at times plays more like a forward. Offensively, there are not too many defensemen in the USPHL above him. He makes great outlet passes and carries the puck up the ice well. Great skater, very elusive. His size is a definite concern for a defenseman, but his positioning and stickwork give him a strong presence in his own end.  (USPHL Prospects, July 2014)
